Behzad Nakhjavan is emeritus professor at Auburn university, an architect, and assoc. member of American Institute of Architects. He is founder and principal at Behzad Nakhjavan Design Studio, a design firm active in residential design since 1990. Nakhjavan was chair of the Architecture program for 10 years, Ann & Batey Gresham distinguished professor, at Auburn University, and Visiting Artist at American Academy in Rome.

 

Nakhjavan is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including (6) Honor and Merit Awards for exceptional architectural design by American Institute of Architects, Visiting Artist in Residence at the American Academy in Rome in 2013, and recipient of 2011 Creative Research and Scholarship Award, the only and the highest awarded in the art and design category by Auburn University. bbn design studio is known for poetic, romantic, and often contemporary design that is embedded in regional culture and dictated by the place, embracing the ordinary crafted in an extraordinary way .
